Review on Timken SP550309 Axle Bearing Assembly by Wagner Witlin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Only exchanged a few days - no problems.

I didn't want to pay the OEM price at my local Chevy dealership, over $300. In my past experience, Timken has always been a quality brand, so I decided to give it a try. The fit and finish of the part looked very good, the ABS sensor cable had exactly the same brackets. The work went very well, the hardest part was tying the ABS sensor cable to the old coupler, it is located behind the upper shock absorber (on the driver's side) and is only accessible between the inner wheel arch and the frame rail. I swapped left and right. Front hubs at the same time - I figured if one starts making noise the other side can't be far behind. After less than a hundred miles there were no issues and the front end was much quieter. Once I've racked up a few thousand miles on the van I'll update this review.

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Very expensive
