Being a thrifty person, this summer I decided to grow my own for the first time. With a bounty harvest imminent, I spent far too much time lounging around the garden with a magnifying glass in hand, closely observing the development of the flower buds. However, when I couldn't identify any of the trichomes, I realized that a slightly larger magnification would be needed. Found this tiny plastic microscope on Revain (where else?) pictures, I've lost nothing but eleven bucks while I could (potentially) win a lot. The hand is free to steady the scope while the other zooms in and out and adjusts focus. Examining table salt at the kitchen table was fairly easy and straightforward, and the individual grains were surprisingly large, crunchy, and sharp. in one hand while trying to focus with the other. I ended up going back to the kitchen table to reset my zoom preset and focus on those grains of salt. Returning to the garden, I was suddenly able to see the previously elusive tricoms with amazing clarity. Remember that everything is upside down in the viewfinder: if you want to move left, you actually have to move right. To move down, you are actually moving up. If it came with a case it would be perfect.
