Unit takes time to stabilize. It says it takes about 2 minutes to read. In my experience it takes longer. The device takes 10 seconds to change the temperature by one degree. I really can't fault the device as it indicates it doesn't give instant readings. Unfortunately I read the answer to the question which said he testifies quickly. Second, when the device enters the correct temperature range, it often drifts constantly. I saw it slowly rise to 5 degrees above proper temperature for several minutes. Probably should have expected for the price. At the end of the day it works well enough for what I need. Given the other positive reviews and Q&A, I'm worried that my device is just "off".
