I bought this to connect my computer to the internet using my phone's USB tethering. While the original phone charger worked fine with the modem, it wouldn't charge and my battery was starting to drain. I needed a way to charge and transfer data seamlessly. At first I couldn't get the phone to recognize the computer and so it wouldn't connect. The loading icon will then appear for 2 seconds before disappearing. The computer didn't recognize anything connected to it. It might have been an issue with the type of cable I needed to connect to the computer, but how it's connected now I'm not sure. The charge level only after adding the key will reduce the charge speed from 1 hour 25 minutes full to 4 hours 45 minutes full. I didn't have enough control to decide if this is draining my phone's battery, but I'll do more testing.
