I have used this item several times in my electric smoker and I love it! I can sit inside and watch the temperature without opening it. Additionally, you can set the temperature, which is great if you want the pork to be or a little higher so it pulls better, or lower if you want to take the ribs out and finish them on the grill. It was a great investment and I would definitely recommend it. A few notes: the wires and pins are HOT and you can't even tap with bare fingers (always with gloves, learned from experience), 2 pins works fine even if you have 3 shelves of different meats (put them in smaller meat portions , and when one is done, wipe it off and put the bigger one in).
