I installed this unit in my 2007 Hyundai Entourage minivan as part of an aftermarket Apple Car Play radio upgrade. I decided to install the USB connector in the Entourage cigarette lighter hole. I removed the lower portion of the center console where the cigarette lighter is installed as part of the radio replacement procedure. By removing the bottom part I gained access to the back of the console where the cigarette lighter is installed. There is a harness connector that allowed me to detach the console assembly and move it to my desk. There is a power connector that connects the cigarette lighter to a larger wiring harness. I unplugged it. Try as I might, I couldn't unplug the cigarette lighter from the remote. As a result, I intentionally crushed the cigarette lighter with pliers. It was easier to crush after using a hacksaw to clear a few slots on the lighter. Once crushed, the lighter was easy to remove, exposing the mounting hole. Then I found that the hole perimeter is smaller than the USB connector design which I expected. I used a tool like Dramel to expand the circle while checking the USB port along the way. Once the device got to the hole, I tightened the USB lock nut. The port now looks factory installed on the console and it's amazing. The USB connection works perfectly with my Apple Car Play radio. Pleased with how the work has turned out.
