Better than paying hundreds at the dealer!

I ordered this keychain as a replacement; as i bought the car used and they only gave me one key. The finish is good. When you hold the device in your hand, the plastic feels similar and has a nice texture. The weight feels good. Please note that there is no BMW badge on the key fob and you need to order the 11mm badge separately. In order to retain the key function (mandatory): take the vehicle, original key and new key to a specialist locksmith. Call ahead with the FCC ID on the back of your original key (I had a KR55WK49127) and make an appointment. You need to use a special computerized key programming tool and a small cutter to cut out the emergency key that is inside the fob. Cost me $80, YMMV. The only reason I didn't give this item five stars is that it's a bit thicker than the original key. Inserting the key fob into the dashboard is very tedious, removing it is just as difficult. The locksmith successfully programmed it and the key works as a spare, but it is noticeably thicker than the original key.
