Review on Adjustable Lashing Motorcycle Trailer Luggage: Enhancing Material Handling Efficiency by Nick Ross

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Reliable, durable, easy-to-use, versatile metal quick release harness.

These 1" ties are very well made and attach securely to a quick release metal buckle. They have a working strength of 800lbs and a breaking strength of 1000lbs, which is best for heavy anchor work. The 16 foot length is a plus when covering a long deck pickup or for tall stacks or heavy loads. In addition to the traditional tie-down use, I've replaced my trailer ratchet mounts on my FXDL with these. Considering I'm 210 pounds, I can easily tighten those straps and compress the forks for towing. I use a second pair on the rear wheel through adjacent D-rings to eliminate lateral movement. Another excellent application that hasn't been mentioned. I have shade sails in two places around my house. Everyone/manufacturers I've read talks about fitting a shade sail with different combinations of carabiners, turnbuckles and ropes or chains to get the desired strength of the sail. Depending on the application, a shade sail should be tensioned up to 100-150 pounds on its load-bearing D-rings to prevent wrinkles and destructive flapping. On one of my sails I dropped the gear and adjusted/centered the sail very quickly, gradually tightening those straps. There is no quick and gradual tightening with turnbuckles. After centering myself, my very quick and light draw achieved the desired tightness. To remove the sail, loosen the cam: done. These straps are long enough, strong enough and simple enough to be used in any application within the limits specified. I highly recommend them.
