Review on ๐Ÿบ Coopers DIY Beer Bottling Set โ€“ 15 Qty, 740ml Oxygen Barrier, for Home Brewing Perfection by Brenda Willoughby

Great for home brewing - compared to Glass and Mrbeer

I personally prefer plastic bottles to glass bottles. Why? 1) I've never had a bottle bomb, but if I did I'd prefer it to be plastic. 2) Plastic bottles indicate when they are carbonated. Express them. See #1 - You may find a potential BB just in time. 3) Plastic bottle capping is 95% faster and easier than glass bottle capping. 4) Lids can be used over and over again. 5) They do not break, are light and quiet. It's like driving a car.6) After bottling, I squeeze out all the air before replacing the caps. I'm not sure if it matters, but it's actually not possible with glass bottles. ;) So you can just collect soda bottles, but they are usually clear or green, which can lead to meanness. Also, most of them are very brittle, don't know how that affects O2 penetration. These bottles and 1 liter bottles of MrBeer remain. I have both and I like both. The main differences are in size (yes, Cptn Obvious). I like both sizes. Maybe 1 liter more - that's enough for a Sunday afternoon. 3/4L is too much for my typical workday (I prefer 0.5L) and a bit low for the weekend. They seem to be a bit stronger than MrBeer's, but I'm not sure. maybe because they are smaller? At least not a bump. MrBeer bottles have white caps that are easier to write on than the black ones that come with Coopers. Finally, they're a little cheaper than bottles from MrBeer at the moment - $1.71/L vs. $1.875/L. Not significant. Bottom line - it's okay if you like plastic bottles instead of glass bottles. Different size compared to MrBeer, decide which one is best for you. Maybe both.
