5 stars because I often get compliments on this large bag. Otherwise I would give it a 4 for the optics. This is a really great bag! Big! Holds more stuff than I need: laptop, notepads, chargers, bottled water, pens, markers and so on. It is very durable. I use it daily for work, school etc. I think you can take it on a plane but I have other bags for that. (I try to be careful not to scratch it). As for looks, it says it's REAL LEATHER, so I'm here to argue (I'm no expert). I wish it was bigger if it had more color and texture variations. It is hard and solid brown. There was no strong smell. However, I often get compliments on it and I believe it will take a lot of abuse! I am ashamed to admit that I have MANY bags and backpacks and use them all! It goes with all my stuff and goes well with brown shoes! lol! 5 stars! Hope that was helpful!
