I use the AlphaSmart 3000 and I really like it, but with two caveats. First, the screen is quite small, and second, the keyboard feels a little "sticky" and definitely not smooth to use. Dana has a much bigger screen and you can change the font and font size. The keyboard on this thing is great. I don't like the overall feel of a laptop keyboard, preferring the feel of a desktop model instead. Dana has a full sized "traditional" style keyboard which is exactly what I was looking for. I understand this is the same keyboard used in Neo. The only downside to switching to Dana is that the battery life has been reduced to around 25 hours compared to around 700 hours for the Neo and earlier AlphaSmart products, but for practical reasons that's not an issue for me. or aspiring to be a writer and need a special small writing instrument, the AlphaSmart Dana is definitely worth considering. Mine cost me less than $20! How can you go wrong with that?
