Review on Acer CC314 Convertible Professional πŸ’» with E248W 1920x1080 Resolution and HDMI Connectivity by Aaron Bowles

Also in 2022, love it

I've been a huge fan of the Ezel Loop since the Acer Aspire R13 in 2015. This laptop was legendary and I'm replacing it. I've had my eye on it since 2020 and have only decided to take it now in 2022. Although the processor is dated (10th gen Intel vs today's 12th gen) I bought it for a well balanced multimedia/work laptop. The original was advertised for media consumption, and that's what I currently use the Ezel 3 for. Mind you, if you're just going by pure specs, for the price ($950) this is dated. But considering it was $1,500 when it launched, I think a $550 cut is fair. First you pay for the loop. I can't use a normal hinge with an Aspire R13. Once I get used to it, I can't go back. I'm used to the screen floating closer to me and for me it's worth the cost. It's a little difficult to pull out, but it appears to be bulletproof. Using 2 hands, guide the screen from the center to the sides. It should last 5-7 years. Next, you pay for the build quality. Not many brands make beautiful white laptops anymore. And considering it's ceramic coated, you know it'll retain its pristine white color. The screen is dated 16:9 vs 16:10 but I'm used to it so it doesn't really bother me. The screen is bright, around 400 nits, and the stylus works fine, albeit thin. I only use it for signing and other occasional tasks like taking notes. The port layout could be better, but at least there's plenty of I/O. Probably one of the few disappointments is that you can't charge the laptop via USB-C, which is odd given that the old R13 could. The power adapter is a little big, but not big enough to bother me. Generally you just know what you are buying. The 10th Gen Intel is outdated, the display is 16:9 and the battery only uses the charger. But given the beautiful white color, build quality and ceramic coating, Ezel's unique durable hinge, touchscreen, integrated stylus, fast fingerprint scanner, color-accurate matte screen, dedicated GPU (light gaming and video editing), etc. I would definitely say that $950 is fair. I'm definitely happy with my upgrade. If Acer continues to update this and improve the design with the next gen 12/13, along with the 16:10 aspect ratio, higher brightness and screen options, I'll probably sell this and upgrade in the future! Bonus: attached photos with his old brother to see the evolution of the design.
