This worked great for using a CompactFlash card as a hard drive in a very old Fujitsu Stylistic 1000 486 based tablet that originally with a PCMCIA ATA hard drive. Note that if you're using it to connect a hard drive to an old computer, you'll have to play around with the partition table, BIOS geometry spec, etc. to get everything working the way it is. Often needed when adding new storage devices to older machines. This will require some research, so it's probably not a ready-made solution for many use cases.
