I wasn't sure about the glossy appearance of this ceramic "log" when I first saw it out of the box, but after a thorough rinse in the sink I half buried it Aquarium gravel and partially hid it among the live plants. This looks great; no longer shiny and the mix of earthy tones in the glaze helps to blend in with the natural look of my aquarium. I have two small crab catfish and a small clown fighter and a small yo-yo fighter (so far they are small). , anyway.) four feet long 65 gallons. They all appreciate having another hiding place in addition to the mopani tree and plants, and this den will help maintain a peaceful aquarium with enough 'solitude' for everyone.
