Review on ๐Ÿšฐ Sinktop Faucet Filter by Home Master by Jordan Rini

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Table block, long life in a small package

Surprisingly small but effective. The unit is about the same size as a Dawn foam pump dispenser so doesn't take up much counter space. Easy to use, a simple twist of the valve directs water through the filter. Noticeable improvement in water quality. My community uses chloramine (chlorine and ammonia) for secondary disinfection and that's why we bought the mini 1ccb model as it specifically handles chloramine. We plan to use filtered water for baby formula and wanted the water to be as pure as possible. Water after filtration has neither smell nor taste, the difference is noticeable. The filter has a very good water flow. Installation was easy, only pliers were needed, but where the unit loses the star is. You will need to remove your existing aerator and attach a filter valve. It comes with threaded adapters, it's frustrating that all adapters are plastic so make sure you use the correct washers and don't over tighten or the plastic threads will come loose everywhere. I don't want more metal used throughout the valve assembly. A nice addition to the plumbing kit would be small zip ties to secure the hose to the faucet neck. The hoses are of reasonably good quality, if a little stiff, and connect to the filter base very easily and without tools. The filter itself is a single unit, there is nothing to wash, clean or rinse when replacing. No maintenance required. Replacing the filter is also tool-free and they seem affordable, we'll see how long the filter lasts. Edit 31-8-2020 Well we finally changed the filter, it was about 10 months old. The water quality was still good, with no noticeable chloramine smell or strange taste, just the amount of water was noticeably reduced. Getting 10 months of daily use in a family of 5 drinking, brewing, blending and cooking is amazing! A replacement filter is quite affordable in terms of the amount of filtered water it provides. After about a year of very heavy daily use, the bypass valve attached to the faucet started dripping water when the switching valve was turned off. I emailed Perfect Water, the Arizona filter manufacturer, what the problem was and provided a digital copy of my Revain invoice. A few hours later I received an email reply apologizing for the problems and informing me that a new complete assembly of the diverter had been shipped to my home address. Amazing customer service! I got a new build a few days later and it installed quickly, the whole system works like new again. Perfect Water has a customer for life Edit 09/10/2021 I really can't believe another year has passed and we just replaced the mini 1CCB filter! For an average family of 3 (the little ones grow fast and leave the nest) this really takes about a year. I saw one telltale sign that a replacement was needed and that was the filter's water pressure slowing down as the pores in the catalytic carbon block became clogged with impurities and this slowed the water flow. We use municipal water (MWRA Mass) which is very good water to start with. I like this filter as it requires catalytic carbon to remove chloramine, the newest and most durable sanitizer that MWRA uses to ensure water quality from source to tap. There are very few solids and contaminants in the water to clog the mini CCB filter, which probably explains why some reviews say the filter lasts so long (like ours) and some just a couple of weeks. When you use well water, there are more solids in the water, leading to earlier filter clogging and eventual premature filter failure, although in reality the activated carbon in the filter can remove many more gallons. If that's the case, you should get a whole house particulate filter first and then use the Mini 1CCB as the last source of venting and it should work a lot better. I left my review and updates of this product before this review with 4 stars, as of today it gets 5 stars.
