Reading 5 pounds over true pressure

I've had no luck waiting over a month to use it, this tire pressure gauge reads 2 pounds at 30psi and 5 pounds at 40psi. My car and my supercharger agree that my tires are 44 as indicated by this gauge. 49 :( I think the price is too good to be true. Two stars because it's still not bad value for money. Next time I'll buy a branded product.
