I bought this set for my mother who is in her 80's with Parkinson's and is in a nursing home. She felt that the cutlery used in the nursing home was too long for her mouth and throat and asked me to consider buying smaller cutlery. I first bought her a Oneida children's cutlery set and she loved it. However, the nursing home lost it to her. She wanted me to get her another set, this time engraved with her initials. I didn't want to spend the money to buy the set again plus the cost of the engraving only to lose it again which I knew would happen. When I was looking for another cutlery set for her, I came across this set from Oxo. Knowing the quality of Oxo kitchenware I decided to purchase this set as I was confident it was made to the same level of quality. My mom loves them! They're the perfect size for her, and as a former fashion designer and artist, she's sensitive to colour, texture and form. She likes the deep pink color of this dish and the shape of the knife blade. In addition, if this cutlery is accidentally placed in the facility's kitchen, it will stand out from the rest of the cutlery and can be easily removed for you by the staff. It sounds like a small thing, but when you can't make the body exactly how you want it, even small things go a long way.
