Review on ⚡️ Wireless Surge Guard: Technology Research Corp 34951 Portable 50A by Brian Whitmore

Erratic operation and poor customer service

Bought this 34951 surge protector a few weeks ago and used it for the first time this weekend. I connected a surge protector to the 50A side of a power socket at a campground and cut the power for about 5 minutes but didn't read any code explaining why the power was cut. After a delay of about 90 seconds (or so), the power cut again for about 5 minutes and then turned off again. Again, no code, no reason for interruption. After repeating this cycle for about 30 minutes, I switched to the 30 amp side of the socket. Everything was fine for a while, then the Surge Guard on the 30 amp side started doing the same thing, but every 30 minutes or so, again for no reason. After speaking to the camp owner and hearing from all the other RV's that have used this site with no problems I decided to just remove the surge protector and take a risk. I uninstalled Surge Guard and had no more problems. I've called Surge Guard tech support dozens of times and got the same message from someone named Steve who said he was working from home due to COVID but he "promised" he'd call me back! I left several messages to Steve and others over the next few days and no one called back. I also bought a wireless partner LCD that should connect to the Surge Guard so you can see what's going on with the Surge Guard from the inside. of your RV, but even though it said it was connected, it never showed any information about the surge protection status. Very dissatisfied with Southwire's surge protector, remote metering and total lack of customer service!
