I am an experienced skater, have been skating for 15 years. I've owned over 10 pairs of inline skates ranging from $150 to $1200. I bought there because I came to New York for an exchange and didn't bring my gear with me, so I was just trying to get some affordable skates while I'm here. When I received these skates I was amazed at the build quality. these skates. They are strong and elegant. The extra zips make it easy for beginners/intermediates and the cushioning of the boot is great too. I think these skates are cheap for two main reasons (cons): The skates are made of synthetic material, not leather, which makes me skeptical about the durability of these skates if you use them frequently. Also, I would say the wheels are not that good compared to the boots and frame. I tested them on a 10 mile city cruise (New York-Washington Heights to Midtown West) and the second left wheel bearing blew. I'd say the road was pretty bumpy and would have broken a lot of the midrange due to the cheap wheel bearings, but I was really hoping these wheels would be different. In any case, these are great inline skates (probably the best under $300) if you are a beginner, even an intermediate user, use these skates with care. Stay on the bike path, don't ride restlessly and everything will be fine.
