Bought to change the oil in my boat. It didn't work right out of the box. I connected it to the battery and flipped the switch. nothing happened except that the wires began to heat up. I removed the front plastic cover and found that the pump impeller cover, which is held in place with three screws, is too tight and is preventing the mechanism from turning. I coated the screws with some Loctite and then simply "pressed" them against the O-ring. Now it works fine. Simple solution, hope this helps someone else.
