I have owned a bay OTTB mare for over 8 years. She is not a destructive transplant, but rather a wind sucker (even in the pasture). Her previous owner used an old traditional tie down that was totally ineffective. Since the Weaver Miracle Collar had good reviews, I gave it a try. It worked instantly and stopped her postscript. I have just ordered my second collar as the first one has weathered after 8 years. Here are some tips I've learned over the years: 1) Keep your head clean by grooming it daily. I live in a sandy climate and the sand gets under my collar and causes irritation. 2) Keep the collar in good condition and clean every day. 3) I find it more efficient to change my mare's collar. I will leave it on her for 5-7 days and then remove it for 24 hours or so. It gives her a breather and then seems more effective when I put it back on. I've tried fleece covers but they get dirty quickly in my sandy terrain. Clinical studies show that nothing prevents you from reaching 100%, but this product is very effective when used correctly.
