1. BUY THE RIGHT PIEZO SPEAKER. I can't say enough.2. Yes, it's a 0.5 second burst every 5 seconds. So buy more than one and go for it! Yes, it could be more expensive. But what do you want? Something that works or another device that doesn't work? Now I have 3 of these and I run them in a checkerboard pattern; it's not difficult once you know how. I don't want to add more for fear that the cannon will be heavy, but I guess that's unfair. What gets really heavy is the battery, although the LiPo works well. Google is your friend. I won't give a tutorial, again, google is your friend. They are connected to a pair of piezos that I have in my 1" PVC tube "double-barreled" shotgun. An additional set of electronics/passives and the amps themselves are in the "shop". Bring the dog to the Silence which is about 200 yards away. This works EVERY time. The dog runs to the other side of the barn and stays there for at least an hour. There is another pair of dogs on the other side of my property - a Marmaduke dog and a bulldog, both very dumb animals. It takes them a few turns to walk but they make it. Works every time (By the way I'm a dog lover so don't act weird. (I have two of them but they come when they be called, and shut up when I call them. So it's really about the owners, not the dogs.) For example, the cannon also works on many other animals, especially chickens - including roosters. But it doesn't last long un d cannot be used too often, they get used to it fairly quickly. However, it will scare away wild birds. not for a noob. Know what you are doing and it will work. One last little note: you MUST use the right speaker for this thing. MANDATORY. The last one I bought came with the correct speaker; the company must have figured it out. Don't listen, no one says this thing doesn't work, I bet it's because they picked the wrong speaker. (Yes, yes, ask me how I know.) Anyway, 5 stars because it's amazing, 3 for ease of use/reliability and 4 for value.
