Great iron! suitable for irons and steam irons

This is the third iron I have bought and finally I found one I like. It glides easily and releases a lot of vapor. The tank is large and holds a lot of water. The measuring cup is very handy so you know exactly how much water to put in the tank. The spout is narrow and fits perfectly in the filling opening. The reason I didn't give this iron five stars is that it heats up slowly. You have to move it a little to activate the initial heat. Several times I've turned it on, put it on heat, laid it…

Terrible iron I bought it twice and both times.

Terrible hardware I've bought it twice and it's failed both times in less than a year. The indicator light just went out one day, like the first iron. To make matters worse when I called Panasonic support I told them the iron was only 7 months old. After receiving all my information, the representative informed me that she was too old to get technical support. I had to remind her that you have 1 year of support and I already told her it's only 7 months etc. I explained the situation and they…

I wanted to love this iron.

I spent so much time researching this before buying it, but reading about it and using it are two different things. The multi-directional feature seemed like a great idea, but I've had the iron for five months and have never used it. Much easier to just rotate the iron. On the other hand, this iron has never leaked - not a drop - and that is an important feature for me. I've found that I really miss the stainless steel outsole. No other surface glides like stainless steel. Breach of contract…

Updated 4/23/2017. The iron stopped working 51 weeks after purchase. Went online to arrange a warranty repair/replacement as the printed warranty said they were open on a Saturday. no The website lists opening times for weekdays only. Now I have an $80 doorstop. My sister's good old Sunbeam is getting hotter, smoother and a lot cheaper. This iron works so much better than any major drug store iron I've had in the last 40 years. It heats up quickly, puts out plenty of vapor, is easy to fill, and

Don't waste your money on this hardware.

As I said in previous posts, I do long arm quilting and I use a LOT of an iron. One thing I use it for all the time is steaming quilts after I load them into the machine. I've had this iron for a few months now and have used it a lot. It's not that much iron for the price. I think a basic iron like Black and Decker would work just as well. As I've written in other Rowenta iron reviews, they are the best I've ever used for heat, consistent steam, weight, etc. The lifespan of a Rowenta iron is a…

A new favourite, even compared to Rowena

My new favorite iron. I've had Rowena in the past and love her. But my last two got into the habit of licking at 6 months or less. And in less than 2 years they just don't hold the heat in the plate like they used to. I like it. Very hot on the cotton and linen settings. Although the temperature dial feels cheap to turn, I don't think I'll break it. Many temperature settings. I wish it had more vaping options. There is only off, low and high. You can add a splash if needed, but my old 6 or 7…

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Available in white only

I compared this iron head-to-head with the Rowenta DW9280 which is currently the most popular iron and ranks #1 in Consumer Reports reviews. Since I am a bachelor, horizontal ironing is not intended for me. I buy clothes that aren't wrinkled or ironed and use the vertical steam function to make shirts look neat. The Panasonic iron is much better than the Rowenta iron which costs almost twice as much. As for the vertical steam function, the Rowenta has twice as many steam holes (400), but the…
