I mainly wore this hat at night with my CPAP machine. Prevents my hair from getting tangled in velcro and headbands. Being silk I don't get hot at all but in the winter it can really help some. I took the larger size. I have thin hair, not very long, but I wear a cowboy hat that is a size 7 1/4 to 7 3/8. It is elastic and nestles gently against the body. I can't understand how well he's holding up without CPAP. I sleep side by side all night, trusting it won't get stuck on me. But stays put with CPAP machines and looks great in a sock. I recommend the quality of this cap. I can buy another one.
