This is 100% non silk. It's heavy, feels like wool and cotton. After many hand washes it has become frayed and rough. It was just smooth when it first arrived. Look, it's from China.

I have a big head, so I bought a men's size! That's great. Close your ears, there is a place. The texture is so soft and light. I think it's a great hat unless you have a small head. I have a large head and it fits very well but still stretches and wobbles a bit at times.
