Review on πŸ”Œ Enhance Compatibility with Inteset 38 kHz Infrared Receiver Extender Cable for HD DVR's & STB's by Adam Jenkins

Works very well with Verizon box

Purchased for a 7100 Verizon FIOS HD receiver. My dad just switched to Verizon from DirecTV and found that the Verizon boxes are much larger than the ones he had before. Due to the limited space in the kitchen, we had to find another place to put the huge receiver. We chose it to be above the bread bin which sits above the fridge. Unfortunately, the receiver is too high to use the remote effectively, so I bought this device hoping for the best. Insert this IR extender into the back of the Verizon box in the hole provided. Then he pulled the cable assembly down so it was on the counter next to the TV. This means we can operate the remote control from anywhere in the kitchen without line of sight. There is no delay between pressing the buttons on the remote control and the receiver responding. I only wish the cord was longer, but I made it work by moving the bread bin and receiver closer to the edge of the fridge. We are so pleased with this IR extender that I am buying another for another TV spot where we want another 7100. The box isn't in the way either. I might even add one more just to have a spare on hand if needed; I love it. You don't need to spend 20-30 dollars on other IR extenders. This extension cord is all you need. $13 is a very reasonable price.

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
