I replaced an old Linksys 100Mbps switch with this one and it works at 1000Mbps. I replaced an outdated Linksys due to a problem sending lots of HD video over the network. I connected 10 devices and found no network problems. It's also very quiet, you don't know it's working until you see a light on it. I also have a 1000Mbps Netgear on this switch for more ports elsewhere in my house and have never had a problem. I've never tested Spanning Tree, but hey, I know what I'm doing. I knew it was an unmanaged switch when I bought it, but I didn't need a managed switch. a while. I recommend this if you need gigabit connections to maximize throughput at a reasonable price.
