Context: I've been looking for various posts and products for phone mounts that people have installed for the bottom display. blocked by the steering wheel. In addition, the display spoiled the aesthetics of the car. And then I found this product. At first I was concerned that the metal plate I attach to my phone case would interfere with wireless charging. Much to my delight, the product included a nickel-plated plate that enabled wireless charging. Needless to say, wireless charging works as expected with the nickel plate. (Note: use with Pixel 5) Pros: - Can be installed anywhere, especially under the display - Wireless charging is possible - Magnet is strong with nickel plate (see cons for more details) - Can be hidden when not needed Cons: - Magnet isn't as strong on a nickel plate as on a traditional metal plate, so the phone can rotate when you turn the phone, but not by itself (the nickel plate is attached directly to the phone case) - not that it was heavy to do, but sliding the mount out of the box can have more resistance than you might expect. can be purchased separately! Or add a few more with a mount. It would be great to share other drivers' phones etc.
