Really not worth the money

I bought this programmer for my 99 Crown Victoria in hopes it would increase mileage on a friend's recommendation. Considering I've also upgraded to platinum spark plug tips, accelerated super coils, Specter Cone air cleaners and dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers, from what my friend told me, these upgrades should count towards my computer recalculation. a bit that i actually got better torque and power overall and my mpg went from 25.5 to 26.5, once to 27.4, especially after changing the ignition. So I bought this programmer because of the features mentioned on other pages: change tire size, change fuel type, gear ratio, shift hardness, shift points, temperature blower settings and erase all fault codes. Verdict? While I did notice an improvement in torque and horsepower, mainly because the car didn't shake as much in 1st gear, which often happens, I was able to change everything except the ratio and shift points. I felt a bit cheated by the lack of these two options, hoping to eliminate the 1st to 2nd place jitter completely. I sent it back. I also didn't notice any change in mileage and couldn't change the tire size. Typically if a person uses premium gas in their car I could personally get 1-2 mpg more. However, if you fill the car up with, say, 10 gallons of gas, the difference in price is only $3-$4, which I don't think is worth it given the average 26.5 and 27.4 the programmer for premium forces you to do every time Getting premium gas, so it's really the same thing. Honestly, if you want a better tune for around the same price, it's best to forget these things altogether and head to a music store. Otherwise just stay away from them. But that's just my personal opinion.

Pros
  • Allows real time monitoring of multiple vehicle sensors
Cons
  • Very expensive
