I have used both vertical and flat iPhone XS and iPhone 8 Plus chargers on a daily basis. Both work very well - finding a middle ground on charging is easy, and they stop charging when the phone is fully charged. Slightly warms up while charging and cools down quickly after completion. I was skeptical about the usefulness of wireless charging, but the ease of use makes it my top choice right now. A vertical stand has a relatively small footprint for these types of chargers, less than a flat one, as the phone doesn't protrude beyond the base when standing on the stand like it does when placed flat on a hard drive charger. And after a month or so Yootech chargers seem to be of good quality, especially for the price. What's particularly convenient for late-night use in the bedroom is that the charge indicator lights up for just 15 seconds to indicate it's working, and then turns off. I ordered another set as a gift. I use a Fonken 18W 3.0 USB fast charge adapter with them and it works fine. Although the seller doesn't recommend it, my Apple iPhone USB adapter also worked, but much slower. I only tried it once and didn't fully charge it.
