This is almost a standard hamster cage but its main feature is that it comes with an extra large wheel. There is a lot of debate that smaller wheels cause back problems in hamsters and other rodents when they climb on the wheel. We personally have never had a problem with hamsters over the years no matter what exercise bike we used, but the kid in this house felt it was important so this large exercise bike seems to suit him. I can't say hamsters care much about it. In any case, this mesh cage should smell less - I don't know if I agree. I think rodent cages just need to be cleaned often no matter the design. I'm sure hamsters do better if they don't clean often enough. Either way, it has everything you need well packaged together.
