I agree with some others here that the theme doesn't work for some strips. In my case I bought 5v IP30 tapes, very thin and without additional protection. By inserting the strip into the slot and closing the lid 100%, I can still easily pull the strip out (it's not sticky at all). What I did to get around this was to cut a small piece of cardboard across the width or inside of the connector and use tape to attach the cardboard to the end of the LED strip. I inserted a strip + sealed cardboard into the connector and clamped. This little cardboard bumper provides just enough pressure to hold the connector in place, and the cardboard provides just enough resiliency to not press too hard on the connector or strip. Checking the temperature of the lamps, there is almost no heat in my application, so I agree with this choice.
