This kit was great fun to build and great practice for soldering and working with small electronic components. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who has never touched a soldering iron, but it will definitely get by with beginners. The instructions are divided into several short steps, which greatly simplifies assembly and gives you instant feedback on your progress. It also has the added benefit of helping you spot problems before you get too far into the build. After completing the second phase, I found that my meter was not working properly. The LCD showed numbers but they didn't change and didn't seem to reflect the voltage changes at the inputs. I contacted Elenco with a video demonstrating the problem and they sent me a new motherboard and enough components to get me up and running again. New parts arrived within a few days. I just finished my counter and it works great. It looks very high quality and has features that are otherwise only found in more expensive products. I am very impressed with Elenco and would recommend their kits to anyone interested in electronics.
