If you use this corn popper you MUST have these hubs. I only have 1 or 2 grains that don't burst. It takes a very high temperature to pop the corn. If the corn starts popping longer than usual (after about 7 uses), the concentrator needs to be replaced. They don't add oil so keep that in mind! I've read that some people use oil with it and it's not necessary nor recommended! I melt the butter on its own in a small bowl, pick up the corn and toss and drizzle on top after the corn is popped and placed in the serving bowl. Add salt at the same time.
