No idea. Maybe it's my expectation that I can see things more clearly and precisely. I also think the marketing video is misleading. I think the companies that sell these things bought a video from someone using a 200mm zoom lens and then attached their product to it. This monocular does not match the video in any way, so beware the buyer! It's better than the (standard) zoom feature on my iPhone, but if you're looking for a telescopic zoom feature with a six-mile range, this isn't it. I leave it because it's compact and looks well built. But to do what I want, I need to buy a proper telescope so I can use my phone to take pictures of distant objects.
