Super bright, super white - happy I bought these

I bought these in February to upgrade the stock headlights on my 2014 Passat TDI. Wow what a difference. It's super bright, super white, and sometimes overlaps street sign reflectors. But I see much better at night, and that was the goal. Before purchasing, I contacted LasFit with a number of questions and concerns and they responded to all of them very quickly and efficiently. I also watched a number of installation videos online and read reviews from other customers. It was very helpful. I installed the passenger bulb first to get a feel for it. It was pretty easy as it's easier to access (if you're right-handed) than from the driver's side. The LED bulb is also cracked with the silicone disc factory fitted on the bulb (another set is included in the pack). On the driver's side, the lamp was a bit more difficult to reach due to access restrictions. LED light bulb. I didn't have a good grip and couldn't fully rotate and lock it in place, so I removed the silicone disc and it worked. When attempting to mount the passenger side by removing the bulb again and removing the silicone washer, I found the bulb was too loose and put the washer back on (can also serve as a dust seal and vibration dampener). I tried one more time on the driver's side to get the silicone disc in place properly by rotating my hand for a better grip and it worked! I was also able to refit the (flat) rubber dust caps back onto the flashlight body - the bulbs work well with them as they have a protective cage and side vents for a fan (at least the kit I got in February - Lasfit). the design seems to have changed a bit, it seems). However, cup-shaped dust caps may work better. So far they have survived the brutal Arizona summer we had this year and I hope they hold up. Note: When I turn on the car, I see 4 flashes of headlights (light switch in OFF, ON or Auto position) - like during initialization. It takes some getting used to, not a bug according to LasFit. Some reviewers also mentioned having to readjust the beam height. I didn't have to do this and I think based on my experience of installing this bulb in my car and based on the design of the bulb that if it isn't fully screwed in and locked in place the beam will be deflected and may need to be adjusted. Note 2: For European cars, the high beam is always set a little higher on the passenger side to better illuminate the right side of the road to better see pedestrians, animals, traffic signs, etc., and on the driver's side it is set a little lower to see the oncoming transport not to blind.

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • Running speed
