If you like Hoka shoes then this is a direct competitor. I run college cross country and have had enough shoes over the years. These shoes are really springy, especially on the descents. I personally feel bumps in my knees when running. As a young man I don't feel the effects of the shock yet, but I understand how a person with bad knees can injure themselves in these boots. Plus, these love to roll your crotch like a hoki. They make your step healthier. Some people like this fix, but it just doesn't work for some types of running. I found I was running more with my toes in, causing me to push off the inside of my foot. This roll correction doesn't work for me, but it's just a personal preference. I would expect a similar effect for duckfoot runners. Sounds a little crazy, but I would never lift weights in these shoes. You are very unstable when walking. I keep twisting my ankle in them if I wear them carelessly. When I take her to the gym after a workout, I almost fall several times with a weight on my shoulders. I take a couple of vans or arbors with me to workouts to avoid strength training in them. Stability is simply not enough for proper strength training.
