When I first received them, I washed them in cold water and dried most of them on a low setting, and then smoothed them out, around air dry them the rest of the way. At first I worried about them, after that they looked a bit wrinkled. But I filled them with feather inserts and they look amazing. The perfect loin size for our living room chairs. The main base for the fabric is canvas, so it's not super soft, but the fringes make it a bit softer. Very cute and good value for money.
