Good machine / Lost 2 stars for bad instructions

We all know that instructions for Chinese products can be a bit cryptic - bad spelling, bad sentence structure etc. So if the buyer of this product is watching authentically displayed, they don't work properly. There are several bugs that need to be fixed. First, the color scheme of the wires is non-standard. There are 4 wires: red, black, orange and blue. USUALLY, red is positive in most DC circuits. Black is negative/ground while orange and blue can be anything depending on the device. Wire #1 (RED) is normally connected to the battery positive terminal - always on but shown as connected to the ignition switch (load side). So when the key is turned off, the clock stops. Not good. So make sure you connect the red wire to the positive point which is always on. I recommend using a small fuse instead of the ignition switch (marked "ING"). This way the power supply is always on and protected. There is no need to approach the ignition switch. Normally the black wire goes to ground (negative) but not here - instead the blue wire goes to negative/ground (read more about the black wire below). The orange wire is for the LED backlight, which turns on when plugged into a power source that is on at night, e.g. B. headlights or the dashboard of a car or boat. Time Setting: This clock needs a button to set the time. There's one on the back of the block, but of course if it's installed in the dash, you can't get to it. This is where the black cable comes into play. Other brands have an extra button, but this one doesn't have one. You will need a momentary normally open push button that will be installed next to the clock by drilling a hole for it. The black wire connects to one side of the button and the other side goes to negative/ground. If using this on a boat make sure the knob is weatherproof. Finally, the instructions show the watch from the back and side - it's upside down but easy to spot. Conclusion: Follow the colors on the sheet and replace the small fuse where the ignition switch is located.
