My physical therapist started using it on me after battling ankylosing spondylitis for 5 years. I have more movement in my right shoulder and much better movement in my left. It also works wonders when someone puts them on and pushes them aside while I move. Almost like a deep tissue massage mixed with acupressure. I would consult a physical therapist prior to use to find out the do's and don'ts and start with 60-90 seconds. And yes, you get ring marks within a few days, so twice a week is a good plan.
