My phone takes hours to charge

It takes so long to charge my phone with this cable that it loses the convenience of a 10 foot cable. I'd rather just use a shorter cable that charges my phone 1/4 times faster, even if that means I can't continue using my device. Maybe this is how the universe is telling me to put my phone down for a few minutes.
