These locks are the best solution I have tried for many applications but they are also VERY DIFFICULT TO INSTALL compared to others. I'm a carpenter, but that doesn't mean you can't install them with modest skills - however, there are plenty of opportunities to make mistakes from moving parts, ripping wood, stripping screws, or piercing a drawer/door front - must from the back be drilled within 1.8 inches of the face. Of course you can do this with caution, but caution takes time, and we all have bad days. I think they should give you a drill and stop or at least sell one along with the locks. You should insist that EVERYBODY GETS AT LEAST TWO KEYS because you'll either lose one (perhaps to a curious toddler) or, my weakness, lock the key in a cupboard or drawer. Additionally, locks are not very adaptable to many drawer and door configurations due to a lack of mounting surface, clearance for moving parts, or space constraints, making it difficult to maneuver the drill press where it needs to be. You don't have to use those pesky little screws (#4?) either. When these magnetic locks work properly, they are just a dream. We have one in the first aid kit down the hall that has been working fine for seven years. But being the best isn't always enough, and it's the setup that stumbles them.
