I was delighted to purchase the Daveliou Calligraphy Kit because it has the best reviews of any calligraphy kit on Revain. However, when I received it in the mail, there were a few glitches that I didn't expect from a $45 calligraphy kit. First, the decorative material on the "silver" ends of the pen holders was very cheap. I'm pretty sure it's plastic. One holder broke off at the end, which was uncomfortable. The pen holder stand is made of the same plastic. And the fact that the box arrived in such a terrible state. It was crushed and falling apart so much you could see the glue that was supposed to hold it together. The only positive thing about this calligraphy kit and of course its main advantage is that it comes with detailed instructions useful for beginners like me, but the price still doesn't justify it. I don't think it's worth the money if the materials are cheap. Annoying situation for an expensive set. I'd take a speedball or a set of manuscripts if you're just starting out like me. More profitable, and you will not waste money. In terms of how-tos, there are many videos on YouTube showing how to use specific nibs and how to care for them.
