The carafe arrived in a thick cardboard box with no extra protection or packaging, which doesn't make a very good first impression. The cork gasket fits snugly but is not entirely glass and has a plastic outer layer. The decanter has an uneven white rim on the inside of the bottle neck, giving it a cheap look. The real problem is long scratches and air bubbles on the glass. It has some weight but not too heavy. I would have kept it but in my opinion the liquor carafe is just a show and this one fell short of expectations. If you're looking for an inexpensive carafe with an airtight lid, fine. However, if you want quality, this is not the option. To be honest after I contacted the seller and sent the pictures he offered to refund my money which is the reason for two stars instead of one.
