Now there is an area where all visitors can use and charge six devices in one place. Now we have free sockets for our kitchen appliances again! Each USB port was measured to output 4.998V at 1.154A, so the claimed 2.4A total current was accurate. Six outlets are protected by thermal protection filters. There is a green light on top of the device to indicate that the surge protector is working. It makes a good night light in low light. Even more impressive is the internal EMI filter, which helps block the noise from all those wall warts without getting into the power lines. The 15A EMI filter is a tricky feature, especially in a small outlet. Although it only makes electrical connection to the top outlet, with the bottom outlet acting as a regulator, the 15A current drawn from a single outlet should be within the safety limits of most NEMA 5-15 household outlets. With 6 outlets and 2 USB charging ports you can charge 8 devices, but the unusual shape of most USB wall outlets means 5-6 USB devices is the practical limit. The unit comes with a long mounting screw that should be used to attach it to the wall. Only the screw needs to be replaced because the wall plate does not interfere with the installation.
