Review on Pelican 1520 Camera Case With Foam in Desert Tan Color by Roy Boone

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Matching set

I've finally found a Pelican case that's the perfect size for my AR-15 pistol. Coincidentally, the "Desert Tan" cost the same as the black case and it matched my gun. It took me a while to decide if I wanted red or black but why not do it now when it doesn't cost more money. My pistol has a standard handgun buffer tube and the barrel is a 7.5" free float flat point. I have magpul flip up scopes on it which is good because the red dot scope doesn't fit. I also have a small streamlight underneath as you can see in my photos. The depth of the suitcase allowed me to pulling out the foam and reinserting the foam halfway up before putting my gun back in the case. This allowed me to place my magazines on the bottom of the case, which was still protected by an inch or so layer of foam. I simply place a piece of free foam on top of my two magazines and then insert the parts of the weapon. This way I can fit everything I need without the foam sections getting too flimsy in the middle. I've had many other Pelican cases in the past and this one seems a little better due to the new locking system and metal padlock guards. . I already know that Pelican cases are extremely durable and waterproof, because one of these was bolted to the trunk of my bike for about four years and I never got anything in it wet.
