This is an unusual toy and I would very much like to buy it again. My son is 2 years old and was diagnosed with ASD. He does not play well with many toys and is much younger in development than he is. But he plays so well with this toy! We offered him the option with a butterfly. It doesn't matter if he plays with it properly because he's still having fun, learning its shapes and colors and even seeing different shades of color. He likes it when we help him put it together and he enjoys watching the game. Gears and figures rotate. He has already mastered many new skills and is showing more patience while playing with him. I recommend this for neurotypical or neurodivergent children.
