Used to replace the snap ring on my Mazda 3 '04. The tool *works*. First I tightened it while it was on the ring and then tried to turn it. It slipped after very little torque. What I did was take it off the ring and then tighten it a little more than I thought it should. This gave him a better grip on the plastic ring. It probably still isn't as good as if there were notches around it, but it did the job perfectly. Not disappointed at all. I would recommend it to a friend and would buy it again if I had to.
