Review on TheWarmHome Rectangular Fabric Storage Bin with Handles - Grey Patchwork (15.7L×11.8W×8.3H) by Bubba Baldwin

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Beware of misleading information and images

After starting to use my storage jars today, I tested Revain to see why these jars got ten rave reviews and only one negative. After looking at these reviews I'm sure I understand why. It basically boils down to a problem I had previously when Revain was collecting reviews of different products under one heading. Let me explain why. Like the other two star reviewers, I found that the pages don't hold their shape on their own. If you look at my attached photo you can see a dent in the bin on the left. This is because it is not fully loaded. The basket on the far right is perfectly shaped, but then it's filled with five jigsaw puzzles that fit together perfectly. Why did only two of us call it a problem? Nine reviewers rated baskets that were significantly shorter than baskets purchased by another two-star reviewer and myself. There is another person who bought the same height as me and she said they held their shape after stuffing a few things in. And she's right: Even a pillowcase will keep its shape if you put in a room-filling pillow. Bottom Line: Short baskets are more likely to hold their shape without needing to be filled because there is less fabric to hold up. Taller containers require plug-in feet at the four corners. Since these bins are quite full for me, even losing one star is a problem for me. I took off the other two stars due to the lack of consistency in the fabric pattern for my wire baskets. For the seven options, this isn't a problem: four are essentially monochromatic. However, two have horizontal stripes that require the fabric to be cut exactly the same to create a uniformity. If you look at my photo you will see that all three of my baskets are different; Not only are the stripes at different heights, but not all of the stripes are straight on the right basket. Now I think it's reasonable to assume the stripes will be even and consistent since the description says they can be attractively shown together. Without consistency, baskets just look random and reflect a lack of care or attention to detail. In this case, however, this is beyond a reasonable assumption; Based on the pictures, we have to assume that the containers are identical. In all seven grid-style images, the stripes can be seen in the same place on all baskets. Overall let me say the baskets are made of good fabric with excellent top and bottom edge support. However, the claim that a trash can "keeps its shape even when empty” is misleading, at least when it comes to tall trash cans. And that many grid-style shots create an expectation of quality that's not necessarily what you get. If the pictures were of the bins that I actually received I would never have bought them.
