Works in PCIe x1, not PCIe x16. It is best to use drivers directly from Intel.

It took several hours to get the driver/physical installation. The first big problem was the PCIe x16 port - Windows saw the card and installed the Intel 9260 driver, but I got driver errors in Device Manager and couldn't see the network. At this point I thought it was a driver issue, but the drivers from the Fenvi website (which appear to be slightly outdated Intel Pro Set and BT drivers) were actually crashing Windows (this hasn't happened in years!). I got the drivers from Intel and after it didn't work I almost gave up before thinking of changing another PCIe device to try this card in the PCIe x1 slot and it works right away. It fits perfectly in the slot (I've read complaints that similar models are too thin). I bought it to replace an old AC1300 USB stick that had become incompatible with age (loss of connection). I love that it has a heatsink that will hopefully last longer. The router is on the other side of the house and this card's reception at 5Hz (when in Wi-Fi state) is about half that of a USB card, but it still hits the 100Mbps limit our cable company. A big plus that fully mitigates this for me is that I can now get the same speeds at 2.4Hz (the USB adapter tops out at 30Mbps). My modem doesn't work in HT160 mode, so I can't test this feature. It looks like Bluetooth is working fine. Overall, I am very satisfied with the performance so far. I didn't have any disconnects. I'll try to remember to update this review to see how this card holds up. If so, this is one crazy deal indeed.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Is there anything I can add?
